Hey, I’m Kamila Markusova
I'm a qualified integrative therapist with over 12 years of experience gained through supporting clients across NHS, academic, voluntary and private practice settings in South West London and Surrey.
As well as being a therapist, I'm also a mother, partner, daughter, sister and an aunt. I am a lover of nature, panoramic views, exploring, performing and visual arts and learning about people.
My approach to therapy is calm, warm and engaging, and I wholeheartedly enjoy what I do.
Before training as a therapist, I spent years working closely with families and children. That experience gave me a deep understanding of relationships, parenting, attachment and how we learn to cope. Patterns we often carry into adulthood. I bring that insight into our therapy work, helping us explore what’s helping you move forward and what might be keeping you stuck.
I work relationally, which means the connection between us matters. I offer a space that’s warm, respectful, non-judgemental and gently challenging. Our work will be shaped by your aims, needs and pace. You are the expert on your own life. My role is to be alongside you, bringing therapeutic skills, curiosity, care and commitment to help you find what feels true for you.
I also bring personal understanding. I know how overwhelming life can feel. How anxiety, burnout or strained relationships can leave us feeling lost. My own journey through therapy means I know what it’s like to be a client too and how powerful it can be when things begin to shift.
My Approach
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including:
Psychodynamic
Helping us explore how your early experiences, relationships and unconscious patterns may be shaping your present.
Person-centred
Grounded in respect, empathy and trust. This approach supports you as the expert on your own life.
Solution-focused (including CBT)
Offering practical tools and structure to help you manage specific challenges and move towards your goals.
I also integrate nervous system-informed and body-based techniques, which can be especially helpful when emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to express in words.
This allows me to tailor our work to you. Your story, your needs, and how you make sense of the world. I also stay informed by current research and ongoing professional development, to keep my work relevant and supportive.
At the core, I believe therapy isn’t about fixing. It’s about reconnecting with your own inner resources and finding space to grow into the life you want to live.

“I have been seeing Kamila for nearly six years, having first found her when I was searching for help with grief and anxiety, and she really has had an immeasurable impact on my life.
What began as support through some very difficult emotions has grown into something so much more, and over the years she has helped me work through a wide range of challenges with compassion, insight and a deep sense of understanding.
I really value our weekly sessions, talking with her helps me feel grounded, calm and clearer in my thinking and she really helps me gently sort through what feels overwhelming and make it feel manageable.
She creates a space that feels safe, supportive and non-judgemental and I feel really lucky that I found her.”
